My Story

Oh hey there! I'm Megan, and I run The Thrifty Mumma, an online store that started kind of accidently! Life changed for me when I was on maternity leave from my full time teaching job, and I needed to find a way to work and be there for my little ones. Like most people, becoming a parent was a huge change for me, filled with lots of things beyond my control. I guess you could say I'm a "planner", so when I found myself attempting to prep for motherhood I took my research pretty seriously. I read every review, on every baby product. I found myself in the deep dark depths of online parenting forums. Side note: I do not recommend this

The Thrifty Mumma is a place where I can share all the products I've come to love and appreciate. Brands I heard about in mother's group, from my neighbour, or from the mum of 5 that I met in the Westfield indoor playground. You don't have to trawl the internet for products, or read all the reviews (I've already done that for you!).

Why thrifty? Being thrifty is about choosing to spend money wisely. Let's be honest, there is so much 'stuff' out there. I've made it my personal mission to make it as easy as possible for you to shop for all things baby & toddler, with a focus on quality and affordability. I should also mention that I'm pretty picky too, and won't stock something unless I personally know it's good enough for you and your fam! It's simple. I only stock products that will bring joy to your life.

Plus I LOVE a good bargain - hence, my dedicated Outlet where you can get a great deal every day of the year.

I'm a Mumma of two beautiful babes, as well as two sausage dogs, which can often be found "waiting" for visitors at our warehouse door. The best part of my day is getting to connect with other parents - and I'll never miss an opportunity to remind a new Mumma what a bloody great job she is doing.

So make a cuppa, get comfy. and explore my fav brands!

Thank you SO much for supporting my little business ♡

Getting Support

Parent wellbeing is something I'm incredibly passionate about. Anxiety and I had been very well acquainted prior to my transition into motherhood. However post-natal depression knocked me big time. It took a long time for me to come out the other side, and creating this business played a huge part in my recovery.

Whenever I come across a new Mumma, I'll always ensure I make an effort to check in and see how they are finding motherhood. Becoming a parent can be hard, no matter what your circumstances. It can be made even more challenging if you are impacted by mental health challenges. PANDA is such great resource for mums, dads, grandparents, and love ones. Be kind to youself!
