Introducing the ergoPouch Cocoon Swaddle Bag

Cocoon Swaddle Bags are designed to be both easy to use and difficult to escape from. They are made from natural fibres GOTS certified organic cotton and bamboo with a touch of elastane. This means it's firm enough to restrict startle reflex whilst still allowing stretch and movement for healthy growth. The stretch also allows for full chest expansion when breathing, added comfort, and for a baby to move its hands into a self-settling position inside the swaddle.

Why should I swaddle my baby?

Swaddling is a time-tested method to soothe your baby, mimicking the snug sensation of the womb. This helps your little one feels secure and provides a sense of safety and warmth.

One Swaddle - Three Ways

The Cocoon Swaddle Bag is a zip-up swaddle for your newborn or baby to sleep in, without the need for blankets in the bassinet or cot environment. The press studs at the shoulders allow you to transition the swaddle into an arms out sleeping bag once baby shows signs of rolling, or for babies who don't like to be swaddled from birth.

There are three ways to sleep your baby with the Cocoon Swaddle Bag:

1. Use as a zip-up swaddle by ensuring the arm-poppers are closed. Suitable from birth-rolling.

2. Use with a Butterfly Cardi (sold separately) to create a hands-up sleeping position for babies that prefer this style of sleeping. Suitable from birth - rolling.

3. Use as an arms-out swaddle by opening the arm-poppers and releasing the arms. Suitable from birth - 12 months.

Dressing made easier

Parents can layer up underneath as needed for warmth, and follow the handy FREE room thermometer included with the swaddle. This also includes a 'what to wear' guide to help them dress their child appropriately.

Understanding TOG ratings

Your Cocoon Swaddle Bag comes with a TOG rating. TOG stands for Thermal Overall Grade and is a unit of measurement for insulation and warmth of sleepwear and bedding. Put simply, the lower the TOG rating the lighter the fabric. The higher the rating, the more padded and insulated it is for warmth. TOG-rated fabrics are important as your baby cannot regulate their temperature like adults can

What TOGs does the Cocoon Swaddle bag come in?

You can choose from three TOGs for comfortable sleeping no matter the temperature.

When using the Cocoon Swaddle Bag as an arms in swaddle, it is safe to use until your baby shows signs of rolling over. Once your little one shows signs of rolling, it’s time to transition to arms out sleeping for their safety. Simply open the press studs and transition one arm out at a time over several days. As an arms out sleeping bag, the Cocoon Swaddle Bag can be used as a safe sleeping bag up to 12 months old; simply follow our Size Guide to ensure you are using the correct size for your baby's weight.

The Cocoon Swaddle Bags are TOG rated meaning they have an insulation grade making them warm enough to use for sleep without loose bedding, and are designed to replace blankets. It is recommended by safe sleep guidelines to sleep your baby with their face and head uncovered, and their bassinet or cot free from loose bedding, pillows and toys.
